211.312 Double-skin frame drum

Double-skin frame drum. The shell is a shallow cylinder formed from a piece of thin wood bent into a hoop and stuck together. The two skin membranes are lapped onto hoops of twigs each with an outer hoop. The heads are tensioned by light cords, tied together by a heavier cord. Geometrical designs are painted on both heads in brown pigment. A knotted cord snare passes across one head. Pellets are enclosed within the drum.
