cassava squeezer

Small Amazonian cassava squeezer woven from grasses or plant fibre. Decorated with dyed woven strands to create straight and jagged black bands. Loops on either end for hanging and stretching.

Used in cassava preparation/ process by Amazonian tribes (including WaiWai); after squeezing and drying cassava, it is sieved into flour.
