The Gardens, including the Butterfly House and Animal Walk, are closed due to high winds. The Museum is open as normal.

Originally called a kosode, renamed to Kimono turn of the 20th century due to western influence in Japan. Existed as clothing over 1,000 years. Basic design remained the same. Popular as easily layered and suit any season. Heavy silk kimonos worn fall and winter and light linen and cotton ones known as yukata in the summer.
