wax resist cotton

Green textile, wax resist cotton, with yellow/gold and silver design

This kind of textile is worn on a widespread, day-to-day basis by women in Nigeria and is commonly sold. It is often produced in India and imported, which is why it may look Indian in design. This was learnt from two women from the Delta region of Nigeria during an outreach handling session at Deptford Lounge.
