The flowers are lotus, which is Sino-Buddhism symbolise 'pure or peace'. The blue background colour was commonly used in the Manchurian-Qing Dynasty as a lucky colour. Under the influence of the dynasty, some of the Manchus culture was absorbed into the Chinese, and blue became more normalised in daily usage. However, blue is still not worn for festivals, wedding and blessings.
