Press cutting titled: The Horniman Museum

A press cutting describing the annual report and its figures regarding attendance. An increase in attendance has been reported due to the Museum being open an extra day. It then states the various figures for the Bank Holiday Day period with a significant increase compared to last year. It is then followed by a breakdown of what type of groups/people visited the Museum. The second half of the press cutting titled: ‘A Roman Villa in Kent’, describes a Roman Villa located in Kent which has a beautiful decor and is preserved in a good condition. The excerpt continues with how the villa was discovered and that constantly exploring that area has led to the findings, with nowhere being as promising as Darenth. The discovery of the findings reveals a large Roman villa, with large rooms consisting of red tiles and some smaller rooms with well-preserved floors. The last section titled: ‘Res Angusta Domi’, describes the objects found at the villa some being coins, pieces of Roman glass, and a dustbin consisting of items such as a knife, nails, bone pins, rings.
