The photographs show cases in Horniman Museum's Natural History Gallery illustrating displays such as the evolution of animals, locomotion in animals and the ages of stone, bronze and iron. Included are photographs of displays under construction and two photographs of Frank Winsall who compiled the original album. The prints show the development of the construction and interpretation of the Natural History displays. Also included are nine prints and postcards depicting models and sketches of various vehicles, including a Thames barge and a steam powered ship, a model castle, and a workbench with tools.
