Ten black and white photographs of the opening ceremony for the modernised South Hall held in the Horniman Museum Lecture Hall, tea room and South Hall Gallery. Lady Elenor Nathan chairs the ceremony and the guest of honour is Maurice Collis. Horniman Museum curator Otto Samson is also in attendance and features in the photographs.
