pendant (neck ornament (personal adornment))

The ownership of this object was transferred to Nigeria’s National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM) in November 2022.

Square bronze pendant or ornament depicting three warriors. Benin City. The warrior in the middle links hands with those on either side. Beneath each warrior is a representation of a frog or toad. Three sides of the pendant are decorated with bronze rings. There is a loop at the back for suspension. Made by Igun Eronmwon guildmembers (bronze and brass casters).
