Dome-shaped lid of an ivory basket, surmounted with a carved pomegranate knob on the flattened top, which is embellished with openwork scrolling flowers. The frame of the lid is constructed of six segments from strips of ivory, which are carved with circular motifs, the spaces in between filled by thin sheets of ivory. Each sheet has a finely pierced background of horizontal strips, against which carved in relief with figures in landscape with pavilions.
