Ivory basket of ovoid-shape in section, with curved sides taper towards the bottom, standing on six feet. The frame of the basket is constructed of six segments from strips of ivory, which are carved with circular motifs, the spaces in between filled by thin sheets of ivory. Each sheet has a finely pierced background of horizontal strips, against which carved in relief with figures in landscape with pavilions. An overhead loop handle, carved with ribbed pattern resembling bamboo, should attach to the mouth of the basket, but this is broken. The legs are incised with simple linear details, running along between the feet is carved foliate scroll.
