Bronze incense burner (koro), depicting Lao Tse, riding an ox. Lao Tse sits sideways across the ox and has a topknot at the top of his head from which two streamers hang. The topknot has an aperture at the end through the middle through which the incense smoke can emerge. In his left hand he holds a rope which is continued in the ox figure to its head and through a nose loop halter. In his right hand he carries a scroll. His long-sleeved robe has incised floral motifs. He sits on a rectangular cushion on the ox's back. Inscription in Chinese or Japanese characters in red inside rider figure.
