vase (household miscellany)

Small globular vase, Bidri ware, on ring foot with short neck tapering out towards the everted rim. The surface is decorated with a vegetal design including plants with birds and a border of an ivy-like plant, executed in silver in horizontal bands.

This is from the North East, probably Purnia in Bihar state. Its form mimics a ritual vessel, but it was probably not for ritual use. See also 788ii, 791 and 792.
