North Indian dagger pesh kabz with a curved single edge tapered blade. The hilt is made from sections of applied mother-of-pearl secured by red and black lac employed decoratively; the pommel is formed from 2 pieces of bowenite (a mineral similar to jade, but softer). It is contained in its leather-covered wooden sheath.
Similar knives and daggers were produced in the second half of the 19th century and during the first half of the 20th century, and are very commonly found.
