Burmese gentleman

Carved and painted wooden figure of a man with a moustache, wearing a very decorative longyi with horizontal panels around the back. The longyi hangs down at the front so that the panels are vertical at the top half. There is an indication of embellishment at the ear lobe. The headdress has a wide white band around piled up hair. The jacket is white, with gold-coloured embellishment in bands at the edges, etc. The cheroot is missing from the left hand, which is raised. 'Burmese gentleman' is written on the plinth, which is square but for the corners cut off.
