Carved and painted wooden figure of a man wearing a fawn and white longyi, rolled around his waist and pulled up between his legs and tied at the backs with the ends hanging down. Tattooing is indicated on his thighs and just above the longyi at the front and back of the waist. A decorated head cloth is wrapped over his hair, with the end hanging down at the back. 'A coolie' is written on the label at the front of the plinth, which is square but for the corners cut off.
