Finely carved ebony figure of Ganesha mounted on a rat which has its head raised and bared teeth, resembling a boar rather than a rat. Ganesha is seated on a lotus pedestal set on a howdah in the shape of an altar with an arch behind, at the apex of which is a kirthimukha and within which is a hooded cobra with five heads. Three of his four arms are broken off and not present; the lower left had carries a broken tusk. The rat has an elaborate collar made of bells. Set on a wooden plinth.
