Carved gourd of reddish brown colour, with curvilinear designs including four spirals at the widest part. The surface is blackened in areas where it has been cut away to produce designs, creating contrast. An apperture has been cut into the neck, roughly circular but with a point at the top. There are two small, round apertures above this, close to the top of the gourd. With the object are two short lengths of plant fibre cord, now separated from the gourd.
Label: Old yellow display label.
