casting (reproduction)

Painted plaster cast of a Maori face, made from life for Sir G. Grey. The whole face is tattooed with swirling designs, except for the lips and around the eyes. The eyes and mouth are shut. The back of the cast has a metal pole stuck horizontally through it, and there is a handwritten inscription reading 'ROBLEY 1904'.
