Sandal. Sole and flap over the toes is made of one piece of hide, with hair uppermost; straps go round the back of the heel and over the front of the foot to meet a thong coming up between the toes from the sole, which is also connected to the toe flap. Upper faces are scored with straight lines. the configuration of these sandals is the same as Tuareg pair (see 5.1.67/11) but more simple. (The Bella are the erstwhile slaves of the Tuareg).
