Set of five altar vessels for a family altar consisting of a censer, two candlesticks, and two vases, all made of pewter.
The censer is of cast 'fang ding' form, with a bulging belly and two 'gui' dragon handles joining the rim to the body, all supported on four anthropomorphic feet.
The candlesticks are both cast with a tubular pricket rising from a baluster-shaped column, with two squared cups above and below, mounted on a pedestal base with stylised cloud-shaped feet. The remains of a red candle are inserted in one of the candlesticks.
The altar vases are cast in the form of a rectangular tube tapering to a bulging section, mounted on a pedestal base with stylised cloud-shaped feet.
All items are impressed with a set of two markings: 'Zhang hong fa yuan', a maker's mark, meaning 'Originating from Zhang hong fa', and 'dian xi bao yong', a hallmark, meaning 'made of tin alloy'. The set of markings appear once on the censer and twice on the candlesticks and vases, on the base and upper parts.
