sandal (clothing: footwear)

Boy's straw sandal, one of a pair with 4737vi. Straw sandal combined with a straw ankle support and toe strap straw hold. The sandal has no heel but slightly curves upwards towards the toes. At the front (toe section) a piece of straw extends outwards with red cloth onto, which then has two hoops of dyed green straw that extends back across the upper-half of the foot. These are held securely in place by pieces of black thread on either side of the sandal. The ankle has a piece of red cloth for comfort inside the sandal. Possibly the green hoops on top of the foot would have been attached to the ankle with some kind of thread. Good condition.
