picture (art)

Framed plaster model representing a scene in the Alhambra, Granada. The main upper part is unpainted intricately carved plaster, inspired by 'la ventana del mirador de Lindaraja', the window of the room from which the princess could look out over the city. Below this is a painted section representing the tiled lower wall of the room. Two tile sections have been enlarged, so this is not an accurate representation of the room.

May have been purchased at the Alhambra Palace in 1884, when FJH signed the visitors' book there.
