armlet (arm ornament)

Armlet of coarse bark cloth probably constructed from a species of fig tree, which is basically rectangular and the long ends has three ties to secure it to itself. The outside of the armlet has a design of a ? forked bush which is outlined using a split cane and them painted inside with a dark brown candlenut bark pigment and outside with a chalky white clay pigment. It compliments very closely the bark dance shield that we also hold.
