(i) Long knife/ short sword. Narrow, single edged blade, broadening and curved towards the point, hafted into a cylindrical wooden hilt. The hilt recessed at each end to take brass tubes: near the blade the hilt is wrapped with a wide tube of brass, open at each end and fluted outward at the blade end; at the hilt end there is a long brass tube closed at the end by a brass disc, with the appearance of a shell case; between the two tubes the un-recessed wood of the hilt. (ii) Long rectangular shaped sheath, made of two pieces of wood, forming a circular section at the hilt end and flattening towards the tip, bound at the top with a broad brass metal band, the wood encasing a flattened projecting metal tube that forms the lower part of the sheath. The wood is bound at regular with three narrow brass strips. The top broad brass band is open along its length on the blade edge side, and bound with three narrow strips. The brass bottom end of the sheath is has a narrow brass strip at the tip. The visible wooden part of the sheath is lacquered alternately red and black between the narrow brass strips.
