Yebis (Ebisu), Satsuma ware. Painted porcelain figure of Ebisu, one of seven gods of happiness. He has a large white tai fish in front of him on which he leans with both hands. He has a moustache and is smiling. He is wearing a black hat on his head. white trousers with a blue floral pattern, gathered in to a green band at the ankles, a brown upper garment with yellow lozenge details on the sleeves, over which he wears a green tunic, open at each side, tied in a bow behind his back. Maker's seal on underside. Export ware.
