cradle (infant carriers)

Cradle or infant carrier of wood, possibly birch, with leather hood over one end. The main body also covered in leather, with strapping of twine attached to sides, through the loops of which a red textile band is threaded backwards and forwards above where the baby would lie. Lengths of braid stretch one each from the centre and sides of the hood, joining at the centre with a silver disc, a single length of braid continuing to the far end. Central strip of textile along the spine of the hood element, decorated on each side with a cream strip of fabric with zig zag sides. Carrying strap attached to each end of cradle.
