Basket for sacrificial food, phavaw-pawkho.Square-shaped base with rounded top, twilled work basket, with cross-brace of thin cane rods on the exterior base. The basket stained black. A length of twisted fibre string, with knotted ends, is tied around the cross-brace.

`Phavaw-pawkho is a small shallow basket used for the food eaten by a man who is making a sacrifice’ (N.E.Parry 1932 The Lakhers London: Macmillan p114). Phavaw `are the parts of the animal sacrificed dedicated to the god or spirit to whom the sacrifice is offered’ (N.E.Parry 1932 The Lakhers London: Macmillan p114).
