Dzunuḵ̓wa

Carved wooden mask representing Dzunuḵ̓wa, the 'Wild Woman of the Woods', depicting an anthropomorphic face covered with black pigment with the cheeks, eyes, nose and mouth highlighted with red pigment. Eighteen perforations around the top of the head with one containing a tuft of hair. Various holes and nails on the reverse.

Collection Information

These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
