Shield of oval shape and markedly concavo-convex section. The shield is constructed from a dense honey coloured wood and has a high patina. Both the face and the back are engraved with parallel sets of three or four grooves creating X shapes, zig zags and plain V’s. The grip is formed by two kidney shaped holes, one slightly larger than the other which have been joined together.
