Short knobkerrie from the South Bantu people of Natal, Republic of South Africa. The knobkerrie is carved from hard wood with a subspherical knob set to one side of the handle. The "poles" of the knob have been sliced flat. The handle is decorated with alternaing bands of beadwork in red, black and green beads, these broad bands are separated by narrow ones of pink and yellow again alternating.
