Early Khanda type sword, difficult to date but probably medieval. Straight double edged sword with broadened spear point and short blade. Bell pommel.
Such swords are often associated with Orissa, but they were also widely used by Rajputs, Marathas and Hindu warriors until the end of the nineteenth century.
The bells on the pommel serve to keep malign influences at bay.
