baskets (containers)

Small sub rectangular bag of woven plant fibre with diagonal seams stitched up inside at the four corners and strips of fibre left long outside to form tassels at both ends. The bag has a plaited shoulder strap of the same material coming to a large knot and features two triangular zones of evenly spaced bead work on either face in red. The bag has a Victorian label with it which reads “basket EFATE Island, Western Pacific”
