sewing box

Coming under the category of Shells, a kind donation was a well-used and loved sewing box covered in shells that belonged to a local resident – her parents had bought it at an auction in the early 1980s along with items to decorate their first home as newlyweds (they got married in 1981). The box was donated by Pascale Spall, owner of the Stag and Bow shop on Dartmouth Road, close to Forest Hill Station. The craft and haberdashery shop also provides workshops ranging from embroidery, to knitting, crochet and bookbinding. Pascale told us that she remembers her mother’s sewing box around the house as she was growing up. (Mew, Sophie 2018-01-29)
