Carved and painted wooden string puppet of male comic character with moustache. Silk longyi; checked cotton shirt; cotton jacket. Headcloth made of same fabric as longyi. Holding an orange umbrella in his left hand. Articulated eyes, legs and arms. Strings from top of legs, feet, arms, both sides of the head, and two from the back. An additional string seems to have been added at top of head. Operated by a wooden cross bar to which the strings are attached. Probably mid 20th century or older. Myanmar.
