Child’s bonnet, early 20th century, made of a length of fine cream cotton cloth folded over the top of the head, gathered at the back and stitched to an insert of embroidered cloth and lace, with an additional strip of the same embroidered lace strip attached along front edge and folded back along the side and over the top of the head. This panel is edged at the back with a further strip of gathered lace, while a double strip is attached to the front, framing the face. The sides of the bonnet are simply decorated with narrow pleats.
