Skirt length, indigo dyed, of fairly coarse heavy cotton cloth, handwoven, decorated with rogan work, in which castor oil is boiled up and pigment added, the colour applied to the cloth with a kalam and by block printing. The cloth is decorated along the lower two thirds with discrete crudely formed printed and painted patterns including painted orange petal shapes in groups of three; printed groups of 16 white dots in a diamond shape; and groups of 8 yellow dots in a diamond shape surrounding an orange dot. Along the lower border is a triple band of painted decoration in similar colours below a scalloped upper border.
As a woman's skirt for the Ahir community. Would have been stitched into a tube and a drawstring added to pull into a skirt.
