A Neapolitan mandolin labelled 'STRIDENTE/FABRICA DI MANDOLIN/Via Antonio, 22/NAPOLI'. The back formed of twenty one ribs of wood. The soundtable with oval soundhole encircled with mother-of-pearl and ebony marquetry, tortoiseshell scratch plate. The neck with seventeen metal frets. The head pegged originally for four double courses of wire strings, from machine heads with worm gear drives and ivory buttons. (Top string is broken).
