doors (ritual & belief: religious buildings & furnishings); shrine

A pair of small shrine doors, pintu. Each door is carved from a flat section of wood, with an integral rod formed at the outer edge with extensions above and below, which would fit into a socket on the shrine itself, forming a hinge. Each leaf is carved in relief a with mirror image of the same design of two elaborate flowers on curved stems rising from the lower edge, with tendrils filling the rest of the space. The background is painted red, with a raised floral design in yellow.
