Wayang wong mask, tapel, depicting Prince Rama. Mask carved from pule wood, painted green with black and gold detailing, especially for the narrow curved moustache and arched eyebrows. A jewel painted in a gold coloured setting above the nose. Mouth has small even teeth of shell in the upper jaw, the lips painted red; aperture below small almond-shaped eyes. Ears not indicated. Headdress of carved and painted leather with coronet at the front and garuda figure projecting at rear. Above is a carved wooden crown with vertical apertures and jewels indicated in colour around the centre and at the top which is surmounted by a gold painted finial. Pompom of red wool fixed to either side of the mask at brow level. The headdress is lined in black cloth. Hook for hanging at rear of crown. Signed by the maker on the inside.
