Mirror-embroidered woman's skirt, tapis kaca, previously sewn into a skirt cloth. Formed of two lengths of cloth which have been woven in warp bands of indigo-dyed handspun cotton and brown handspun cotton, these divided from each other by narrower bands in yellow, pink and indigo. The two lengths have been sewn together along the selvedge and would then have been sewn along the weft ends into a tube skirt. The outer face of the cloth has been further decorated with silk embroidery, both halves having lozenge motifs in cream on the brown bands and irregular shaped motifs in the wide indigo bands, as well as smaller motifs in the narrow bands. The lower half of the skirt is further embellished with squares of mica and/or mirror glass.
