Cotton tubular skirt for a woman. Length of cotton with plain bands of grey at each selvedge, the centrefield being made up of bands of supplementary weft in yellow, white, dark brown and pale green on a red ground, sewn by hand along the short ends into a tube. This technique of applying discontinuous supplementary weft decoration with a needle is known as sungkit. In this piece the ends have been left loose on the inside of the skirt. The five main horizontal bands of decoration depict stylised creatures including the lizard. Between these bands are narrow bands of zig zags.
