Woman's hair ribbon. Substantial warp-faced cotton ribbon, completely covered with single-faced brocading. Motifs include many geometrical designs as well as corn plants and bird motifs in blues, greens, orange, pinks and white. The warp (seen on the reverse) is red, with a white stripe and a few more red ends either side of the red. (The few extra warp-ends are to hide the 'turn around' of the red weft at each throw.) The corners of the two ends of the ribbon are folded back till they meet and stitched down to form a point. Colourful finger-woven cords with large pom-poms are attached each end.
