Hmong woman's festival jacket lined in blue cotton, the outer layer consisting of black and blue satin brocade. Lower part of front and back and sleeve ends have applied panels of turquoise embroidered in pink, green, magenta, blue and yellow. Around the front opening is a panel of applied green fabric, embroidered in similar colours in silks and extends around the neck. Parallel to this at the extreme edge is a strip of red fabric on top of which is a further strip of red appliqué set on a bright green ground and embellished with metallic strips. This secondary strip does not extend around the neck and from the left hand side at the base hang four strips of fabric: green, yellow, one with a pattern woven in green red and white, and the final, outer, strip of applied bright green covered with multi-coloured embroidery. A small narrow strap hangs from the same spot and a corresponding narrow strap from the seam between front and back on the right hand side of the jacket. Slits part way up the sides.
