Part-made hat (according to donor). Circular cap in purple velvet with black velvet binding along the rim. Four ridges meeting at the centre divide the upper part of the hat into sections, each of which is decorated with a motif in sequins and purls. Below each on the lower part of the hat is a similar motif. Inner lining is red. Black stitching in parallel rows visible on inside, as are yellow stitches which secure the purls and sequins in place.
