Flute. African blackwood (grenadilla) body with nickel silver-plated keys, ferrules and tenon sleeves. Keys are block and pillar mounted with circular flaps and fish skin pads. Two joints: head and body. Tenon lapped with cork set in metal sleeve. Head joint stamped: RUDALL/CARTE & Co./LONDON; Body joint stamped: RUDALL/CARTE & Co./23 BERNERS STREET/OXFORD STREET/LONDON/1349; A crown emblem appears above both inscriptions.
