This cor anglais once belonged to the great 19th century oboe virtuoso Antoine Joseph Lavigne, who was an important early advocate for the Boehm system oboe. The unusual key additions to this instrument, such as the Dorus pattern G sharp key, merited its inclusion in the Royal Military Exhibition of 1890.
