Oboe body. African blackwood (grenadilla). Designed for Boehm system keywork but no keys mounted. Two joints. One tone hole on upper joint filled with wax.

This oboe body is one of a pair in the collection that once belonged to the great 19th century oboe virtuoso Antoine Joseph Lavigne, who was an advocate of the Boehm system oboe.
