Flute. African blackwood (grenadilla) body. Silver ferrules (one hallmarked) and head joint tuning slide (30mm in length). Four joints. String lapped tenons. Eight Keys. Body joint has three block mounted keys, two of silver (hallmarked on flap/shank), with circular flat flaps and fish skin pads. One key probably of nickel silver with a saltspoon cup and fish skin pad. One key has a duplicate/alternative touch piece. Foot joint has five block mounted silver keys with circular flat flaps. Three keys have fish skin pads and the lowest two have pads of cork. Body joint is stamped: HILL. LATE/MONZANI & Co./28. REGENT STt./PICCADILLY/LONDON/3129; Head joint, barrel and foot joint are stamped: MONZANI & Co.; Foot joint is also stamped: PATENT; Crown emblem is stamped on flap/shank of the two body joint silver keys and above inscriptions on every joint.
