Clarinet in B-flat. Body and keywork of brass with silver plating. Ebonite mouthpiece not original to instrument. Twelve pillar mounted keys with saltspoon cups and leather stuffed pads. Also brille key. Roller between two left hand little finger keys. Four joints: mouthpiece, barrel, upper joint and combined lower joint/bell. Mouthpiece has cork lapped tenon. Other connections secured with butterfly screws. Mouthpiece is stamped: BOOSEY & Co. Ltd/LONDON; Lower joint/bell section carries oval shaped stamped inscription: HENRY DISTIN/MAKER/31 CRANBOURN St./LEICESTER SQRE/LONDON; and stamped inscription appearing within a letter D: DISTIN/LONDON
